She was the character Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace (1998-2006, 2017-2020) where she earned 8 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting actress in a Comedy Series winning twice in 2000 and 2006. Additionally, she received her Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Female Actor Performance in the field of a Comedy Series, she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards and seven consecutive nominations. Mullally's very first commercial was a McDonald's commercial, and it also featured John Goodman. In 1986, she made her television debut on The Ellen Burstyn Show. In the following years she appeared in shows like Frasier and Seinfeld. Ned and Stacey Mad About You Caroline as well as the City 3rd Rock from the Sun. She was the principal character in a season five of Murder She Wrote, Coal Miner's Murder. In 2012, she said that she was frightened because she hadn't been hired for so long.
